Okay a couple of things about this thread amuse me, but first an old irony. (And please lets avoid nonsense NVA/PA knee-jerk political tosh from brainwashed tools)
Old NVA.
1. We win the Taggart war - hurrah! 2. (within a week) [NVA] "we are sooooo bored we need someone to fight." 3. Some want to fight CFS, some turn pirate, and some, "Jade darling, can't you scare us up a war, pleasssse!" 4. I stir things with Biomass and cause trouble with PR. 5. Its war hurrah! 6. [NVA] "damn we are losing!". 7. [NVA] "oooooh lord we are really getting our asses kicked!" 8. [NVA] "Jade your ebil PR has brought this upon us!" 9. Jericho get kicked. War over! Hurrah! 10. (Within a week) [NVA] "we are sooooo bored we need someone to fight."
- rinse and repeat.
So thatĘs the first funny part of this.
The second is this,
PVP with pirates and pirate hunters is boring rubbish.
Why? Because like superevolved predatory beasts both sides have become deficient in other areas. (like imagination, political motivation, ideology, variant tactics, skirmish, resource disruption, etc etc).
The state of the pirate PVP is the gank lag blockade warp/jumpin kill.
And its utter rubbish.
I hated the NVA vs FE war and wanted no part of it because it was absolute boring nonsense.
Sitting in a gate blockade was boring.
Watching the pirates form gate blockades was boring.
Listening to all the b-itching about the latest exploits was boring.
Listening to all the wanger-measuring was boring.
Even the videos were boring.
The simple truth is that pirates do not make good war opponents. They have no resource base to attack. They have no real underside. There is no real room for finesse and manoeuvre and imagination. Combat with pirates is always cheesy. If itĘs not insta-gank its chat spam, or safe point banditry, its captain log-off and his five fingered ego stroking.
And the worst thing is the whole "becoming monsters to fight monsters thing". Over time the good guys become scumbags just like the bad guys, because they are forced to use the same tactics. And then when both sides are doing it you have the ridiculous situation like the one in Venal where neither side will attack and the passage of the "war" is defined by time of day log on preferences by time zone.
So to now; and the state of the pirate "art", which is the single "golden horde" tactic that basically breaks the game. The servers can't handle it. There is no way to beat it.
LetĘs be charitable and call it the "mongol horde" strat. ie, the pirates are the best warriors in a huge pack that go ravaging where they please. Anyone who attacks them gets wiped out.
Well history teaches us there is one way to beat this.
Whats that you ask?
Bore them to death.
IE retreat long enough that the Mongols have an internal crisis or fail to progress a succession because their internal government is too crude.
And then they get forgotten by history and the rest of the world continues.

Sadly it doesn't present much hope for the honest jobbing pirate hunters but I have to say Darth you have been given good advice in this very thread by sensible people.
Hardin says roleplay ... find reasons to fight wars with non-pirates in empire for ideological reasons that will give you a challenge and less cheese to contend with.
Thats one option.
Or DB suggests the mercenary approach. Intervene in other people's wars, sell your services in corp war confrontations and gain your kicks that way.
Again valid.
But I think you have to forget eve's pirates as a source of amusement because it just isn't likely to happen.
The hard core pirates are too good at doing what is neccessary to win at all costs ... regardless of "fun".
These are guys prepared to camp a laggy gate for 6 hours straight listening to fart jokes on teamspeak.
You will find no amusement there.
Stop looking.
Over avenues await.
PS.
Since leaving Venal JF and I have become involved in a little war with caldari extremists, nothing flashy, nothing special, but I will tell you what. I have had more fun chasing Pojo and his chaps about Gallente space in a couple of days than I had in 4 months of FE fighting, and dispute the nonsense oft-spoken about JF we all took a role in that war at one point or another Darth. We were fighting it long before Celestial joined, and we were bored to tears while it was all new to you.
